area, amongst Cathedrals, live theater, and fine restaurants, Abba Inn is halfway between Hotel
Fairmont / Newfoundland (Eastern End of downtown) and Hotel Delta / Convention Complex (Western
End of Downtown) which is adjacent to Mile One Stadium, home of the St. John's Maple Leafs. Just
about every St. John's attraction is within an easy five minute walking radius of the Inn.
This bright Bed and Breakfast is noted for its spacious rooms with king and/or extended twin size
beds and offers all the extra amenities one would expect in an exclusive Boutique Inn. An eclectic
art collection is displayed in our well-lit entrance and hallways, as well as in each of our rooms.
We have a computer with internet access in our breakfast / sitting room area, as well as high speed
wireless internet access throughout the property. Room configurations and furnishings are
continually updated so pictures on our web pages are often outdated.
With a punch key entry and sound retardant walls our guests can check in and out at their leisure.

Room Interiors
Some rooms, facing south with early morning sun, have whirlpool tubs and spectacular views
of old St. John's including Signal Hill and the North Atlantic Ocean. Our eastern rooms are
away from the street traffic and tend to be quieter. We can provide mini-bars and microwaves
for those guests with special dietary requirements. All rooms are non smoking.
Full breakfast with variety of choices from a fresh fruit bowl to
standard hot breakfast fare and the occasional local exotic dish.
Guests have use of kitchen and laundry facilities.

We have a total of four (4) rooms available.
We can provide Double, Queen, King sized beds. A cot is also available
if needed.

HISTORIC SITES:
Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
World's Finest Examples of Ecclesiastical Gothic Revival in North America.(1843). Destroyed
by the St. John's Great Fire of 1892. Rebuilding Began the Following Year and Was Completed
in 1905. Declared a National Historic Site in 1981, the Cathedral Preserves its Excellent
Stained Glass, Medieval Carvings, and Offers a Small Archival Museum Containing Some Early
British Cathedral Artifacts. The Area Behind the Church Encompasses a Cemetery -- Originally
Called the Burying Ground -- Which Was Used from the Early 1700s until 1849. Although Few
Headstones (Such as Sir William Carson's) Remain, it Contains about 5,000 Graves.
Founded in 1699, Making it the Oldest in Canada, the Parish Celebrates its 300th Anniversary
Throughout 1999 Through a Wide Variety of Special Events, Many of Which Are of Interest to
the Public.
Roman Catholic Basilica of St. John the Baptist
With its Twin 43-meter-high Towers and Location on the High Hill on the Northern Side of the
Harbor, the Basilica Has Long Been the Dominant Feature of the St. John's Skyline. Begun in
1841 and Completed in 1850, the Military Road Structure Was Consecrated as a Cathedral in
1855. At That Time, it Was the Largest Church in North America. Built in the Shape of a
Latin Cross, it Was Declared a Minor Basilica on its Centenary in 1955. It Is Now a National
Historic Site. Guided Summer Tours Available.
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
On Harvey Road Stands an Imposing Gothic Revival Building with an Impressive Spire. St.
Andrew's Was Built in 1894 after the Original Presbyterian Church on Duckworth Street Was
Destroyed in the Great Fire of 1892.
St. Thomas Anglican Church
A Striking Black Wooden Building Opened in 1836, St. Thomas Anglican Church Is the Oldest
Church in St. John's. Located at the Corner of Military and King's Bridge Roads, it Originally
Served the Members of the British Garrison at Fort William, Which Stood at the Nearby Site Now
Occupied by the Hotel Newfoundland. Though Made of Wood, the Church Survived the Great Fires
of 1846 and 1892 -- it Was Located Outside the Main Areas of Destruction.
George Street United Church
This Is the Oldest United Church Building in St. John's. The Cornerstone Was Laid in 1872. The
Church Is Built of Newfoundland Stone and Slate Quarried from the Southside Hills of the City
and Pulled over on Heavy Drays. A Photo Gallery of Ministers and Other Important People in the
